Before you head out this summer, make sure that your vehicle is up to the task. Nothing can spoil a trip faster than car trouble, especially if it could have been prevented. Keeping your regularly scheduled car maintenance up to date, and understanding a few “tricks of the trade” can help keep your vacation from becoming a mechanical nightmare, complete with bills for several thousands of dollars in car repair work.
Here’s a quick checklist to get you ready.
1. If you don’t have a GPS on your phone, tablet or built in to
your car you may want to get one.
2. Review your owners manual for quick fixes like changing a
tire, wipers and headlights.
3. Check tires for proper pressure. Check fluid levels; oil,
brake, transmission, coolant, power steering and window washer.
Make sure you carry a jack and jumper cables.
If you will be renting a vehicle we recommend that you purchase the physical damage waiver. Your personal auto policy may not respond in the same way the rental company policy will.
HAVE A GREAT TRIP !!!!!!!!!!
